I’M GOING TO LONDON BABY

You won’t believe how keen I am to get there. After my Contiki, I will be saying Adios to Spain and heading to one of the coolest places ever… LONDON!!!!!

The first time I went to London was in 2011, when I was just 15 years old, and I instantly loved it. Jamie Oliver, The Royals, One Direction … What’s not to love about the UK.

My trip to London will be the first time I will be completely alone in a foreign country, and I am that excited about it. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really mind my own company, and I’m not really afraid to be alone, so the chance to spend a week in London by myself will not only be eye-opening, but full of adventure.

The thing that I am excited about the most is that I will be able to do what I want and when I want. Seeing the things that I want to see and eating what I want.

London is rich in culture, has beautiful markets, amazing museums, fabulous shopping (Hello Oxford St!), and Jamie’s Italian!!!!!!!

My Oyster card is already in my wallet ready for my arrival into Heathrow, and the tube awaits.

Although I’ve been to London before, my 20 year old self needs a refreshing of the surroundings and location of things, so the touristy Hop-On, Hop-Off bus is what I will be using on my first full day in the city, once I’m comfortable and get my bearings, the tube will be my friend. I also look forward to walking through the city and taking in the beautiful surrounds.

Hyde Park – London

Here is a list of some of the places I’m most excited to visit:

  • Notting Hill & Portobello Market (especially after watching Notting Hill a few weeks ago)
  • Borough Market (the food looks incredible)
  • Camden Market (are you sensing the market theme)
  • The Tate Modern
  • Shopping on Oxford Street and Regent Street
  • The Canals and Little Venice
  • Carnaby Street
  • Buckingham Palace
  • Hyde Park and Regent Park
  • Convent Garden
  • Eating at Jamie’s Italian (in Convent Garden) and Jamie’s Diner (in Leicester Square… hopefully it’s still around)

I hope this post leaves you somewhat as excited as I am.

I look forward to letting you know the destination I will be visiting after London.

Hint: It’s a week on a boat.

Stay tuned,

A

Xx
