My Week on a Boat

Once I say Goodbye to the Queen,Β  I will be heading to Croatia for a week of partying, tanning, and jumping into the crystal clear waters of the Dalmatian Coast on Sail Croatia.

I’m so happy to finally be able to tick this off my bucket list as it has been something I’ve always wanted to do, and have heard great reviews about Croatia and how beautiful the country is.

I will be going into this experience quite oblivious to everything as I have no idea what to expect, nor do I know one word of Croatia. However, from reviews that I’ve read and pictures I’ve seen my expectations should be high as people have raved on about how it was the best week of their life.

I’ll be heading to Split, Hvar, Korcula, Dubrovnik and other towns that are along the Dalmatian Coast on my week long adventure.

I’m very excited to head on this adventure as it’s a country I have never visited, and it’s one that I’m not quite familiar with, nor do I know much about it.

I’m looking forward to learning about Croatia, but ultimately meeting new people, partying, however waking up to crystal clear waters and spending my days in the sun on a boat is what really has enticed me to take part in this tour.

Speak soon, and I look forward to letting you know about the next part of my solo adventure and heading to beautiful Italy.

London Calling

You won’t believe how keen I am to get there. After my Contiki, I will be saying Adios to Spain and heading to one of the coolest places ever… LONDON!!!!!

The first time I went to London was in 2011, when I was just 15 years old, and I instantly loved it. Jamie Oliver, The Royals, One Direction … What’s not to love about the UK.

My trip to London will be the first time I will be completely alone in a foreign country, and I am that excited about it. I’m the kind of person who doesn’t really mind my own company, and I’m not really afraid to be alone, so the chance to spend a week in London by myself will not only be eye-opening, but full of adventure.

The thing that I am excited about the most is that I will be able to do what I want and when I want. Seeing the things that I want to see and eating what I want.

London is rich in culture, has beautiful markets, amazing museums, fabulous shopping (Hello Oxford St!), and Jamie’s Italian!!!!!!!

My Oyster card is already in my wallet ready for my arrival into Heathrow, and the tube awaits.

Although I’ve been to London before, my 20 year old self needs a refreshing of the surroundings and location of things, so the touristy Hop-On, Hop-Off bus is what I will be using on my first full day in the city, once I’m comfortable and get my bearings, the tube will be my friend. I also look forward to walking through the city and taking in the beautiful surrounds.

Hyde Park – London

Here is a list of some of the places I’m most excited to visit:

  • Notting Hill & Portobello Market (especially after watching Notting Hill a few weeks ago)
  • Borough Market (the food looks incredible)
  • Camden Market (are you sensing the market theme)
  • The Tate Modern
  • Shopping on Oxford Street and Regent Street
  • The Canals and Little Venice
  • Carnaby Street
  • Buckingham Palace
  • Hyde Park and Regent Park
  • Convent Garden
  • Eating at Jamie’s Italian (in Convent Garden) and Jamie’s Diner (in Leicester Square… hopefully it’s still around)

I hope this post leaves you somewhat as excited as I am.

I look forward to letting you know the destination I will be visiting after London.

Hint: It’s a week on a boat.

Stay tuned,

My Decision to do a Contiki

A Contiki Tour has never really been something that was high on my ‘To Do’ list. I’ve been overseas a few times before and the idea of a completely set out daily itinerary scares me a bit.Β  However, when I decided to travel over to Europe in the middle of the year, and traveling solo, I knew that 5 weeks by myself was something that I wasn’t completely interested in.

Enter Contiki

After countless searches online and speaking to a few people who have done a Contiki, I made the decision to do a 14 day Contiki Tour through Spain, which goes to many places throughout Spain such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and what I’m most excited about… Ibiza!

With this tour, I will get the opportunity to meet heaps of people, see many places in two weeks that I normally wouldn’t choose to go to, and experience the Spanish Culture from all over the country.

I am quite excited for this first part of my holiday, however the places I’m going to after Spain are the ones I’m most excited for.

Stay tuned to hear about the plans for the rest of my upcoming adventure.
